Meet the 2024 PAGD Mentors

Gordon M Bell, DDS, FICOI, FAGD, DABDSM, DABCDSM, DACSDD has practiced in the suburban York area for over 28 years. He has a small group practice that is completely fee-for-service. His clinical strengths include sleep dentistry, implant placement, simple and complex restorative, prosth, and esthetics. His non-clinical strengths include purchasing and building a practice, finances, insurance negotiation, and managing staff. Outside of dentistry, his interests include flying, performance driving, scuba, shooting, cooking, fine wines, and travel.

"I had three careers prior to dentistry. I can share experience at a management level outside of dentistry. I purchased a second practice six years ago and now employ two associates. I will be transitioning those practices in a few years."

Stephanie Berg Stephens, DMD, FAGD has a rural fee-for-service solo practice in New Holland, Lancaster County, which she purchased less than nine years ago. Her clinical strengths include oral surgery, simple restorative, prosth, and esthetics. Her non-clinical expertise includes practice transitions and purchasing, managing staff, and being a female business owner in a largely male dominated field. When not at work, Stephanie enjoys yoga, knitting, reading, concerts, fine art, kayaking, and swimming.

Ryan Buehner DMD, MAGD, AIAOMT operates two practices, one in the Hershey area and one in rural Schuylkill County. His practices are mostly PPO, with some fee-for-service. His clinical strengths are holistic dentistry, pediatrics, and general restorative. His non-clinical expertise includes maintaining a practice while raising children, purchasing and building a practice, and patient interactions. Outside of dentistry, Ryan enjoys golf, coaching his boys in various sports, traveling, and mediation.

"I've gone through various stages of practice growth, from growing up in a solo practice family, practicing as an associate, public service (nursing home traveling) dentistry, to starting up from scratch to growing to multiple locations with multiple associates."

Janine Burkhardt DMD, MPH, MAGD, a 2015 Temple graduate, operates in a public health clinic in center city Philadelphia. Her practice is MA/FQHC federally funded. Her clinical strengths include oral surgery, laser dentistry, simple restorative, prosth, and pediatrics. Her non-clinical expertise includes patient interaction, motivational interviewing skills, and quality improvement/assurance. When not at work, Janine enjoys golf, Peloton, baking, and time at the beach.

Rick Coslett, DMD, MAGD has operated Coslett Dental Solutions, a solo practice in Shavertown, Luzerne County for more than 37 years. The practice is mostly PPO, with some fee-for-service. His clinical strengths include endo, oral surgery, lasers, simple and complex restorative, prosth, esthetics, and sleep dentistry. His non-clinical expertise includes operating a practice with a family. When not working, Rick enjoys bicycling and relaxing.

Katherine "Kit" Dangler, DDS, MAGD, a 2003 WVU graduate, operates Altoona Family Dentistry. Her solo practice is mostly fee-for-service, with some PPO. Her clinical strengths are laser dentistry, simple and complex restorative, prosth, and esthetics. Her non-clinical expertise includes building your first practice, patient interaction, finance and PPO negotiation, and managing staff. When not at work, Kit likes to spend time with her family and travel.

John Della Croce, DMD, MAGD operates a small-group practice in rural Freeland, PA. His practice is purely fee-for-service. His clinical strengths include endo, oral surgery, simple and complex restorative, prosth, and esthetics. His non-clinical strengths include work/life balance, maintaining a practice while raising children, building your first practice, patient interaction, and managing staff. When not working, Jack enjoys studying and practicing archaeology.

Kyle Dumpert, DMD, MAGD is a 2013 Pitt dental grad has owned Radiant Dental of Bedford since 2018. His solo practice is mostly fee-for-service, with some PPO. His clinical strengths are endo, oral surgery, implants, and simple restorative. His nonclinical experience includes practice purchasing, patient interaction, financial management, insurance negotiation, and staff management. When not in his practice, Kyle enjoys surfing, traveling, and watersports.

Ed Enriquez, DDS, MAGD is a 1988 Maryland graduate who practices at Enriquez Family Dentistry, a small group practice in Hanover, Adams County. His practice is mostly PPO, with some fee-for-service. His clinical strengths include endo, perio, simple and complex restorative, prosth, esthetics, sleep dentistry, and pediatrics. His nonclinical expertise includes maintaining a practice while raising a family, associate and partner relationships, patient interaction, and managing staff. When not at his practice, Ed enjoys golf, travel, and spectator sports.

Matthew Freedman, DMD, MAGD, FICD, FACD is a solo practitioner in Lancaster, PA for over 30 years. His practice is mostly fee-for-service with some PPO. Dr. Freedman does a lot of simple and complex restorative cases, prosth, esthetics, and pediatrics. His nonclinical expertise includes maintaining a practice with a family, patient interaction, and financial management. When not at his office, Matt enjoys travel and exercise.

Keith Hollander, DDS, MAGD is a 1985 Temple graduate and practices in Rose and Hollander Dental Associates in King of Prussia, PA. He has practiced with his wife Patricia for over 25 years after serving as an US Army dentist. Their practice is mostly fee-for-service with some PPO. His clinical strengths include endo, holistic dentistry, lasers, simple and complex restorative, prosth, airway, sleep, and minimally invasive dentistry. His strongest nonclinical expertise lies in patient interaction. When not at his practice, Keith enjoys scout leadership, woodworking, and car restoration.

Ray Johnson, DMD, MAGD is a 2014 Pitt Dental graduate who has operated Mint Dental in rural Warren, PA since 2018. Mint Dental is a solo practice that is mostly fee-for-service, with some PPO. His clinical strengths include oral surgery, perio, implants, simple and complex restorative, prosth, and esthetics. His nonclinical expertise includes practice transitions from building and purchasing, patient interaction, insurance negotiation, finances, and staff management. When not practicing, Ray enjoys golf, cars, and tequila (although not at the same time).

Tom Kratzenberg, DMD, MAGD is a 1991 Pitt Dental graduate who has operated Allegheny Dental Group in Irwin and Murrysville since shortly after his graduation. Allegheny Dental Group is a solo practice, mostly PPO, with some fee-for-service. His clinical strengths include oral surgery, simple and complex restorative, prosth, and esthetics. His nonclinical strengths include purchasing and building your first practice, patient interaction, finances, and managing staff. When not at the office, Tom enjoys skiing (water and snow), boating, golf, and bowling.

Josh Parry, DMD is a 2014 Temple Dental graduate who owns Modern Dental Associates in Greensburg, Westmoreland County. His practice is large group, with more than five dentists employed. It is mostly PPO, with some fee-for-service. His clinical strengths are in simple and complex restorative, prosth, and esthetics. His nonclinical expertise is in purchasing and building your first practice, associate and partner relations, finances, PPO negotiation, and staff management. When not at the office, Josh enjoys the outdoors; camping, hunting, hiking, and fishing.

David Schimmel, DMD, MAGD, LLSR is a 1985 Pitt Dental graduate who has operated David Schimmel DMD in State College for over 30 years. His practice is purely fee-for-service. His clinical strengths include simple and complex restorative dentistry, and esthetics. His nonclinical expertise includes practicing with a family, practice transitions from building and purchasing, patient interaction, financial management, insurance negotiation, and staff management. When not at work, Dave enjoys exercise, gardening, and spending time with his family.

Jennifer Siwula Gill, DMD, MAGD is a 2001 graduate from Pitt Dental who has operated her solo practice in Scottdale, Westmoreland County for over 15 years. Her practice is mostly fee-for-service, with some PPO patients. Her clinical strengths are in simple and complex restorative, prosth, and esthetics. Her nonclincal strengths are maintaining a practice while raising children, practice transitions and purchasing, patient interaction, and staff management. When not at the office, Jen enjoys raising her family, vacationing, and the outdoors.

Amanda Sonntag, DDS, MAGD is a 2014 graduate who recently purchased Compass Dental in Wyomissing after working in all types of associateships. Her current solo practice is completely fee-for-service. Her clinical strengths include simple and complex restorative. Her nonclinical expertise is in owning a practice while raising a family and purchasing and managing her first practice. When not working, Amanda enjoys weight training, knitting, and gardening.

David Spring, DMD, MAGD, LLSR is a 1985 Temple graduate who has owned and operated David H. Spring DMD MAGD in Dallas, Luzerne County for over 25 years. His practice is mostly fee-for-service, with some PPO. His clinical strengths include endo, oral surgery, simple and complex restorative, prosth, and esthetics. His nonclinical strengths are building your first practice and communicating with patients. When not practicing, Dave enjoys exercise, skiing, road biking, and golf.

Pranati Tati, DMD, FAGD is a 2007 Boston University Dental graduate who has worked at a small group practice in Carlisle, PA for the last twelve years. Her practice is completely fee-for-service. Her nonclinical strengths include, running a practice while raising children, associate relationships, and managing staff. When not in her practice. Pranati enjoys gardening and cooking.

Cuong Tran, DMD, MAGD, FICOI is a 1996 Pitt Dental grad who has operated Tran Dental in Allentown for over 20 years. His practice is fully fee-for-service. Dr. Tran's clinical strengths are endo, oral surgery, implants, simple and complex restorative, esthetics, sleep, and sports dentistry. He has served as team dentist for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms hockey team for the last seven years. His nonclinical expertise includes maintaining a practice while raising children, building and purchasing your first practice, patient interaction, insurance negotiating, and staff management. When not at his practice, Cuong is a foodie that enjoys the outdoors, concerts and festivals, and travel.
