BREAKING NEWS!!!!

FROM AGD HEADQUARTERS .....

BREAKING NEWS – ALIGN DROPS INVISALIGN CASE START REQUIREMENT!
On June 2, 2010, Align Technology Inc. announced its Invisalign® Proficiency Requirements that mandated a quota of 10 patient case starts each year utilizing the Invisalign product. The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) acted immediately by engaging Align in negotiations and exploring all legally permissible options. More than 1,500 of you utilized AGD’s Capwiz to voice your outrage directly to the president of Align.

We are pleased to report to you that your voice has been heard! Align has just announced today that it has dropped the patient case start quota from its 2010 Invisalign Proficiency Requirements!

Thank you for your patience and your dedication as we fought this battle on your behalf.

House Bill 602, the EFDA legislation, has finally passed the Pennsylvania Senate and is on its way to the Governor's desk for signature. Thank you to all the members who contacted their legislators to have our voice heard on this issue.

Our work is not finished, however. The bill will become law 60 days after the Governor signs it. After that, the State Board of Dentistry will have 18 months to make the regulations and begin implementing them.

PAGD will continue to work for you and make sure that your voice is heard throughout the regulatory process.
